A queer lens in the Handbook for Nonviolent Campaigns

Dear all,

A message from Andrew, who is working in the WRI office this year on the
next edition of the Handbook for Nonviolent Campaigns
- a good opportunity
for the queer working group to contribute!

As you may be aware, WRI is in the process of revising and updating the
'handbook for nonviolent campaigns', which was co-authored by the
network in 2009.

One of the sections looks at gender in relation to our campaigns and
movements, and as we've reviewed the handbook there have been lots of
comments made on the gender section, including a number of suggestions
of extending this section to include a queer lens. We're hoping to put
together a small group to work on this section of the handbook, and it
would be great to have people involved in the queer working group
inputting into this. If you want to get involved, or to know more about
it, it would be great to hear from you in the next week or two! Send me
an email on andrew@wri-irg.org and I can send you more details.

Thanks, Andrew '

P.S. And my apologies for not sending out notes yet from the conference
call we had in the eCouncil - I travelled to Greece soon afterwards and
have just got back to the office today.
