Dissolve NATO: an alliance for war

NATO was founded ostensibly to defend the “free” West against Soviet expansion. Why then did not NATO dissolve when the Soviet Union disintegrated and Warsaw Pact dissolved? The reason is quite simple: because it had become the main vehicle for the coordination of Western military strategy. What follows is a call for peace activists to commit ourselves to raise the demand for the dissolution of NATO.

Ever since 1991 Women in Black against War from Belgrade have been actively working for peace and non violence. The policy which characterizes Women in Black against War begins with confronting with every form of violence, war, militarism, nationalism. Since 1991 the biggest casualty on the territory of Former Yugoslavia has been the civilian population. It is happening again now.

Values which we are supporting are life, solidarity, respecting of differences.

L'intervention del'OTAN en Yougoslavie prend toujours plus les dimensions d'une vengeance contre la population.

Le nombre de dommages civils augmente chaque jour. La destruction des sites économiques aura des conséquences dramatiques à  long terme pour la population civile. Les bombardement placent les villes, les régions et le pays tout entier dans une situation très grave. Le bombardement de l'usine chimique de Pancevo, près de Belgrade, a déjà  causé de très graves dommages écologiques qui menacent sérieusement de se transformer en désastre.
